Changes in the seasonally adjusted value of transactions (compared with December 2011) were as follows:
- Total electronic card transactions were up (1.0 percent).
- Transactions in the retail industries up (1.2 percent).
- Transactions in the core retail industries were up (1.0 percent).
- All industry groups increased, with non-retail and consumables having the largest increases.
The actual (unadjusted) value of transactions in the core retail series was up 3.6 percent from January 2011.
